My Lenovo ideapad with Windows 8.1 has been having problem with too small sound, and I went to search the methods to improve it and found that I could activate the Sound Equilizer from sound setting.
However, each time I try to do so, any software that plays music stops playing any sound. Their "play" button do not react anymore, or they send me error message as I double click on sound file to play with them.
How can I fix this error?
The action I took was as follows:
right side of tool bar --> Right click on the sound icon --> Sounds --> playback (left most tab) --> double click on speaker "Conexant Smartaudio HD" --> Expansion (third tab) --> check "Sound equilizer", the fourth option in the gray box of Expansion, and click OK to complete the setting.
After this action, no sounds can be played using any programm - I tried Windows Media Player, iTunes, Quicktime Player, VLC Media Player, the Windows 8 Music Player. None of them worked. Some sends me message that the format of the sound file is not readable, even though they are very normal mp3 or wav files.
To fix this I had to bring all changed settings of Sound to original. Then the files can be played again.
What can I do to fix the small sound problem?
