Internet Explorer missing after update to Windows 8.1

After updating to Windows 8.1 my Internet Explorer is missing! I still have the icon in the bar and the app is still there, but when I click it, the screen turns blue for a few seconds and then back to where it was before. I tried to look for it in uninstall programs, but could not locate it. I tried making it my default program, found it, made it default, but it still doesn't work. I can go online using torch, but not Internet Explorer. I looked for a download of just the Explorer, but it takes me to the download of Windows 8.1 update and since that's already installed, that's what the computer tells me.
How can I fix this?

I have installed "StartMenuX". With this you can find the IE under Programs. StartMenuX bring the Startbutton back.
